An Iron Worker apprentice is a training-level employee who works in the Iron Working industry while also attending classes to learn industry skills and safety techniques. Wages for an apprentice increase over the course of this training, which lasts four years. An apprentice who graduates to journey-person is recognized as a well-qualified worker who can command the best wages and benefits.

Requirements
Qualifications to become an Iron Worker apprentice include a strong foundation of math and literacy skills, a high school or an equivalency diploma, and the ability to successfully complete an aptitude test. Additionally a qualified candidate must be physically fit, drug-free, have access to reliable transportation, and have proof of citizenship or the legal right to work in the U.S.

The completed application and two letters of recommendation, from a previous employer or teacher, are all that is required at the time of application.
Apprenticeship Requirements:
- AGE - Eighteen years of age
Additional information to be submitted at time of acceptance to the program:
- Birth Certificate
- High school diploma or GED
- School transcripts
- Valid driver's license and proof of reliable transportation to classes and work
- Veterans may supply copy of DD214Applications will not be processed until minimum qualifications are met.
