Pipe Trades Apprentice - Plumber - Pipefitter - Welder - HVAC Technician

Building Trade Apprenticeship:
What is a Building Trade Apprentice? A Building Trade Apprentice assists a Journeyworker in the installation and service of various piping systems and system components. They will learn how to interpret system drawings and specifications, take in field measurements, calculate various pipe sizes and lengths to fabricate and install piping systems employing various pipe joining techniques. These systems can include process piping systems, steam systems, hydronic heating and cooling, acid piping, potable water systems and drain waste and vent systems. These systems are typically found in power plants, steel mills, refineries, industrial works buildings and commercial buildings.
What can you expect? A Building Trade Apprentice can expect to report to work eight to twelve hours a day from five to seven days per week. Working in hot or cold conditions, working at heights, working in cramped conditions is typical for this industry. An Apprentice in this program will also be expected to attend night school twice per week on average.
HVAC Apprenticeship:
What is a HVAC Apprentice? A HVAC Apprentice assists a Journeyworker in the installation and service of various mechanical systems and system components. They will learn how to interpret system drawings and specifications, take in field measurements, and troubleshoot various mechanical & plumbing appliances. These appliances & systems can include comfort heating & cooling systems, steam systems, hydronic heating and cooling systems along with light plumbing service. These systems are typically found in power plants, steel mills, refineries, industrial works buildings, commercial buildings, and residential homes.
What can you expect? A Building Trade Apprentice can expect to report to work eight to twelve hours a day from five to seven days per week. Working in hot or cold conditions, working at heights, working in cramped conditions is typical for this industry. An Apprentice in this program will also be expected to attend night school twice per week on average.
Residential Plumber Apprenticeship:
What is a Residential Plumber Apprentice? A Plumber Apprentice assists a Journeyworker in the installation and service of various plumbing systems and system components. They will learn how to interpret system drawings and specifications, take in field measurements, and install plumbing systems & plumbing appliances. These appliances & systems can include steam systems, hydronic heating and cooling systems along with standard plumbing systems. These systems are typically found in residential homes and developments.
What can you expect? A Building Trade Apprentice can expect to report to work eight to twelve hours a day from five to seven days per week. Working in hot or cold conditions, working at heights, working in cramped conditions is typical for this industry. An Apprentice in this program will also be expected to attend night school once per week on average.
Requirements
The Monroe Plumbers & Pipefitters Local Union 671, 309 Detroit Ave., Monroe, MI 48162 will accept apprentice applications for their Building Trade, HVAC/R and Residential Plumber programs Monday February 5th, 2024, through Friday March 1st, 2024, from 1 P.M. to 4 P.M. ONLY. Applications must be picked up in person by the applicant and returned by Friday March 1st, 2024, at 4p.m. Picture I.D. will be required. (Must be 18 years of age by September 1st, 2024). The following items will be required when you return the application: photocopy of birth certificate or state issued I.D., high school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate, transcript of high school grades and a transcript of post high school education, if any. There will be a $20.00 non-refundable application fee due when the application is picked up.
